I know I’ve been absent from the blogosphere for awhile, but I had to come back and post at least a little something in honor of World Tarot Day. I think it’s a super idea to honor the Tarot and to try to promote its deep wisdom and teachings. I have been reading and studying Tarot for over 25 years, and I still find fascinating and incredible new guidance and insight using the cards. I encourage any student of metaphysics to delve into Tarot study; you will not be sorry if you embrace this enlightening gift from the Universe.
One of my favorite Tarot cards in the deck is Major Arcana II: The High Priestess. Here she is in some of her many forms:
This image comes from the Rider-Waite-Smith, the first deck I ever owned and used, and still one of my favorites. Here are some other beautiful interpretations of this card:
This image is from the DruidCraft deck, by Stephanie Carr-Gomm, Philip Carr-Gomm, and Will Worthington.
This image comes from the Animals Divine Tarot, by my good friend, the talented Lisa Hunt.
This final image is also by Lisa Hunt, from her beautiful Fairy Tale Tarot. (Be sure to visit Lisa’s website, where you can find many wonderful artistic treasures!)
As you can see from all of these images, the High Priestess is a magickal card. She carries an energy of intuition and transformative wisdom, especially when studying the mysteries of the Universe. She holds the keys to enlightenment for anyone daring to sit at her feet and listen to her guidance. She is the incarnation of the Divine Feminine, the Goddess energy, within each of us, whether we be male or female. She is the yin force; she is passive but fearless wisdom of both shadow and light. When we can embrace the High Priestess, we accept and love all parts of ourselves, and we honor the deeply powerful and magickal beings that we are.
On this World Tarot Day, I hope that you will find that beautiful, magickal being within you. The High Priestess is there, waiting. Will you let Her instruct you? It’s your choice, as always. The path may not be easy, but it is filled with astonishing light.
Blessings to you all! xox
